PT Peroksida Indonesia Pratama

The First Producer of Hydrogen Peroxide in Indonesia
The Product

The Product

The product of PT Peroksida Indonesia Pratama (PIP) is hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) .

Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizer that is used as bleaching agent for pulp, paper, textile, wood and rattan, de-inking process of used paper, raw materials for other chemicals (detergent, epoxy, etc.), metal etching in electronic industry, disinfectant for packaging process, water treatment, etc.

Hydrogen peroxide is an environmental-friendly chemical. It will not generate any hazardous residues to the environment when it is used. Hydrogen peroxide will only decompose into water (H2O) and oxygen (O2).

We must not lose the grand and beautiful nature instead of human prosperity.

We recommend Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)

Currently, PIP produces 35%, 50% and 60% hydrogen peroxide.

PIP provides several types of packaging, i.e. 35Kg PE-Can, 230Kg PE-Drum, 1MT Container and 18MT Container.

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (H2O2) PRODUCTION PROCESS

Hydrogen peroxide is produced by reacting hydrogen gas with working solution through hydrogenation process. Hydrogenated working solution is then oxidized by oxygen to produce hydrogen peroxide, which is still mixed with working solution. The mixture of hydrogen peroxide and working solution is then extracted by water, purified and concentrated through distillation process.

STORAGE

Hydrogen peroxide produced by PIP is stabilized hydrogen peroxide. However, there are some factors that need to be taken into account when dealing with hydrogen peroxide storage. Here are the guidelines for storage of hydrogen peroxide.

  1. Types of materials used as packaging materials for tank, pipe, pump, valve, fitting, gasket and hose have to be compatible with hydrogen peroxide and will not cause decomposition reaction. Hydrogen peroxide will decompose into water and oxygen.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         The following table shows standard specification of facilities used for handling and storage of hydrogen peroxide.

  2. Storage tank and piping made of stainless steel must be chemical cleaned and passivated before first use.
  3. Make sure that all hydrogen peroxide storage facilities that will be used are in clean condition. If you are still unsure about their cleanliness, washed them by using purified-water (de-mineralized water) till clean.
  4. All hydrogen peroxide storage facilities should be completed with vent facility, to prevent overpressure.
  5. Storage tank has to be completed with the vent nozzle, temperature indicator, level indicator, manhole, nozzle for purified water supply and drain valve.
  6. Avoid hydrogen peroxide from exposing to direct sunshine. Store it in cool place.
  7. If hydrogen peroxide is stored in a closed space, ensure that there is good ventilating system in it.
  8. Keep all storage facilities remain closed, except venting facilities, to avoid contaminants (dust, catalyst etc.) coming into hydrogen peroxide.
  9. Keep the area hydrogen peroxide storage clean and free from dust, catalyst, and other contaminants.
  10. Avoid hydrogen peroxide trapped in piping between two valves.
  11. Do not store hydrogen peroxide together with other chemical materials, mainly organic chemicals and flammable materials.
